After the all-star break Kobe made it clear that the Lakers will make the play-off he indirectly challenged his team to step their game up, and since then the Lakers have played the best basketball of the season and put themselves in a position to win and make the play offs. Last night’s win in Portland put them a whole one game over the 9th place Utah jazz and if they keep this up they will have a date with the Spurs in the first round of the playoffs. CAN THE LAKERS HOLD OUT THE YOUNG JAZZ TEAM?????

The start of the 2013 season looked promising for the Toronto blue jays as they made some big changes in the off season bringing in some of the top players of baseball, but 9 games into the season looks like they are still searching for the right mix and right chemistry. Hopefully the jays bats will come alive and change things around for the team and they will start playing to their potential , till then all Toronto hopefuls can do is play the waiting  game.  BUT LETS GO JAYS

2013 NBA season coming to an end and the match ups pretty much set, Going into the playoffs the MIAMI HEAT have made a strong binge for repeating as NBA champions for the second straight year.

LeBron James has been named player of the month for the past 4months, he is playing the best basketball of his career and his teammates have also answered the call and showed up, with the whole team being on the same page and fighting for the same goal, I do not see anyone coming in MIAMI way from repeating as champions.

LeBron James scored 27 points, Dwyane Wade added 21 points and the Miami Heat won their 20th consecutive game with a hard-fought 98-94 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. Ray Allen contributed 12 points while Chris Bosh and Chris Andersen had 10 each. The Heat's 20-game winning streak is tied for the third-longest in NBA history. The Lakers won 33 in a row in 1971-72, the Houston Rockets won 22 straight in 2007-08 while the Milwaukee Bucks (1970-71) and Washington Capitols (1948) also won 20 straight. The Heat improved to 49-14 and 19-11 on the road.

Miami heat’s star LeBron James sets NBA record this past week scoring 30 points in shooting at least 60% from the field in 6 straight games, first player in NBA history to do so,while posting this career high and record setting numbers he also helped the Miami heat to win 6 games in a row and taking over sole possession of the number 1 spot in the eastern conference. Last night they beat the Oklahoma Thunder in OKC in convincing fashion to record their 7 straight win heading into the all-star break on a role. If LeBron James can keep up this style of play and keep his team mates motivated on the same intensity level from now till the playoffs I don’t see anyone coming in between the heat and their second championship in a row.

Superbowl 2013

 

Super bowl 2013 started off with the ravens scoring on their first drive with a touchdown pass, Joe Flacco posted a strong game on the offensive and the ravens defensive had another good day at the office, shutting down most of the 49ers running and passing game making it hard for the 49ers superstar quarter back Colin Kaepernick to get going. Jacoby Jones scored the NFLS longest kick return with a 109 yards running on the opening drive right after half time , which made the ravens in full control of the game, then a power outage in the stadium which caused play to stop for 34minutes. After the power outage 49ers looked like they finally caught fire scoring 17 unanswered points in the 3^rd, even after the big surge it wasn’t enough as the ravens held out in the closing moments and won the super bowl making it a great story and one to remember for their long time retiring player Ray Lewis. Over all a very good and entertaining game .

Raptors finally pulled the trigger on a highly rumored trade, involving Rudy Gay from the Memphis Grizzlies. On Wednesday raptors sent long time raptors PG Jose Calderon and PF Ed Davis to the grizzlies in return for Rudy Gay and Hamed Haddadi. So the questions the Toronto Raptors Hopefuls have is will this trade finally help the raptors get over the losing hump and get themselves back in to the play-off race in the eastern conference, raptors get the much needed help on the offensive end with a scoring threat of Rudy Gay skill level which the raptors have been slacking since Vince Carter and Chris Bosh parted ways from Toronto.  Will do a follow up before the play-off start in April as a Toronto Raptor Fan hope it will be a good-follow up and we’ll be talking about a possible play-off match up for the raptors. With future Hall of Famer Marc Jackson at the head coaching position, he has changed the culture of the organization and made them into a consistent team for a full 48 minutes. Golden State warriors displayed ability to compete with the top teams in the NBA. As they downed the OKC Thunder in a 99-104 win, the warriors backcourt did a great Job with getting the everybody involved and controlling the tempo of the game, if they keep this play up, they will be one of the surprise teams in the 2013 NBA PLAY-OFFS, Stephen Curry dropped 31points and David lee, Carl Landry, Klay Thompson, dropping 19-22 points. Last night the Miami heat ended their six game road trip on a positive note with a big win over the Lakers in L.A, LeBron James posted yet another huge game with 39 points 7 Rebounds 8Assists 3Steals, Dwayne Wade also chipped in with 27 points 4 Rebounds and 5Assists.Kobe Bryant had a slow start but a strong finish which was not enough to down the world champs in the last 2mins of the 4th quarter.
